Quick question. I defrosted and cooked a frozen burger, but now I don't feel like it. Can I put it in the fridge and reheat it in the microwave tomorrow?

I'm pretty sure you could freeze it, then re-thaw it, and it would still be OK, because you've cooked it in the meantime.

Yep. It should be fine. :)

  • Yep, that's fine.

As I've got older and my lifes got more boring I take bigger risks with food, last week I ate some mince FOUR WHOLE DAYS past it's sell-by date.

    Whoooo-hooooooo rock 'n' roll life style :D

  • I would imagine a lot worse things are done with burgers in some fast food joints! Have a few beers first, then if you feel ill, blame the dodgy burger :)

  • As long as you've cooked it, you can keep it in the fridge, no problem. Just make sure that when you eat it you either have it cold or heat it really thoroughly - don't give the nasties half a chance!

Does anyone ever find stuff in the fridge with best before Feb.7th or whatever on the packaging and then think:'But it's July now' Or is it just me? :o :D

  • just a quick note. you could keep the burger in the fridge for up to a week, no problem..

No, it's not just you. I am absolutely awful as my family will testify. I clean out my kitchen cupboards and put the stuff back in. I won't tell you how out of date one box of Bistro granules was

  • My wife was spring cleaning the pantry sometime ago when she found some malt loaf at the back.

"Goodness knows how old this is" she said

Next day, at work, I opened the packed lunch she had lovingly prepared. Guess what......?

At least she made it for you...the packed lunch that is. I must be a horrible wife, I've never ever made a packed lunch for my hubby, he can make it himself!

    Your real problem is.........

........it wasn't malt loaf when she bought it 4 1/2 years ago.

It was an ordinary loaf that has been nicely maturing over the years. :D

When my Mother in Law moved into a home some years ago we cleared out her house. She is a lovely lady and always made me marzipan sweets at Christmas and for my birthday. She would buy the marzipan; colour it all different fruit colours and make miniature apple, banana, strawberry shapes etc. They really did look like miniature fruits and were far better than shop bought.

I love marzipan so I would wolf them down.

I found some food flavouring bottles that were 20 years past their use by date. She had bought them in the 1970s and was still using them in the late 1990s. :D We threw them out and she was so upset about that that we had to buy her some replacements.

And no, she wasn't trying to poison me. I am her very favourite son in law.

(Mrs JJ does not have a sister) :D

Of course you can :) . Burger King always cook their burgers and then microwave them for you later.

All that flame grilled rubbish they talk about on the ads is a little bit misleading. Its flame grilled originally, left standing around for hours and then microwaved. Not quite the same.

  • Frozen, cooked, refridgerated, and then microwaved?

    Yum.

    ;)

  • Its says something when you go to use a jar of bovril and see the best before date ran out 2 years earlier, so you get a new spare unopened one out of the cupboard and that is a year out of date............
